GRAPHICALLY GOOD

Don't you feel so smart when you find something like this café courtyard.

Just a clue, I am in Brisbane, OK, The Valley area, it's newish, you can't see it from the street.

This is a very cool courtyard at the back of a café with an old street fascade, see if you can find it.

Car art / fun design/ attention to detail

Working with an icon

In a world where a lot of product is disposable, and mass production creates a culture of the same, is a very strong and passionate movement of people who in many little ways, and through effort or thought and not necessarily great expense, are creating great little pieces of individual style that catch your eye, spark an interest, or even just start a conversation.
I love a bit of fun paint !

Where in the world ?

Where in deed, obviously cool euro, the architecture , the detail give it away. No, this is Santiago, Chile, not to be missed.
Santiago is a mix of past , present ,and very much future. The cables are chaotic, this example of electrics is quite sophisticated for Chile. Great architecture - great destination.

STREET statements

I really like the energy and feeling in small street statements. In public spaces, using visual techniques as simple as chalk, topical, non-permanent and often very personal.and human.

Random positive statements

A mix of messages.

Street ART

LOCAL art - in a quest to see great street art ,signage and graphics, I stood on a street corner in Fortitude Valley Brisbane and said I will only venture two streets in either direction and come back with amazing pics. The fruit of my search in those few streets was amazing .

Retail car park graphics really tell a story'

Narrow passage between buidings becomes an event.

Very powerful commercial car park image

These are up scale images , my next post from the same walk will show some of the intimate and personal statements found.

THE GREAT WALL

We walk and drive past these little masterpieces of built form everyday. Built by local councils, from local stone.

STREET ARCHITECTURE- just around where I live

Brisbane Porphyry - definitely the favourite

Bluestone - common but looks great.

SIMPLY shelter

Really interesting to hit the street and just see the different and very relevant focus used in designing the old school carports/shelters.
Here are a couple near where I live - less definitive architecture, more light weight, inexpensive shelters, that become almost a landscape element .

Home for a valued friend.

Transparency is really effective
